The Sashbear Foundation and Alberta Health Services are pleased to offer FAMILY CONNECTIONS™ a scientifically proven, skills-based program delivered in weekly evening sessions over 12-weeks. The program is based on Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and is designed specifically for family members and friends of those struggling with emotional dysregulation (intense feelings of sadness, shame, anger, anxiety, impulsivity, mood swings and/or suicidal ideation). Delivered by trained peer facilitators who have “lived experience” using these skills in their own families, the program teaches practical coping and communication skills to help participants regain balance and manage emotional reactions to challenging situations more effectively. Sessions run on Wednesday evenings from 7:00-9:00pm, beginning January 8th through to March 25th, 2020. To register for the program, or learn more about other upcoming program dates, please visit the event website: https://sashbear.wildapricot.org/AB-Groups-Upcoming/ Once you indicate interest in a session, the Sashbear Foundation Team will ask you to confirm your ability to attend all sessions. Once you reply to that email, you will be registered in a class. For any further questions, contact the organization at: Phone: 1-888-523-0495 Email: fcprogram@sashbear.org Or, to contact the local organizers: Christa & Brent Stolte Phone: 403-302-7033 Email: stoltebc@gmail.com This event is free. A selection of light finger food and drinks will be provided. The venue is handicapped/wheelchair accessible. Free parking will be available.
